Phyllis Fiarotta's Nostalgia crafts book

Everything handmade has a special quality about it. You want to run your fingers across it. It is softer, more intricate, more pleasing to look at. Even an old car, when it was waxed to its most brilliant luster, provoked a tactile experience: you just had to add that last extra buff to the shine with your shirtsleeve. It is because there's such pleasure in that feel, in the pride of a creator and in the uniqueness and integrity of something homespun that we have all gone back to crafts. No home should be without the glow and warmth of things handmade.
